REI is a New Zealand progressive post-hardcore 5-piece from the city of Auckland. Brought together by their love of anime, experimental music, and the strive to stand-out from their kiwi peers; the band have earned recognition within their local scene for their undying commitment to building their unique sound and persona.

Vore is the first single off of REI's upcoming EP titled: "Violent Delight". The song was created to challenge the lack of technically focused music within the NZ metal/core scene by making use of odd time changes, rhythms, and dissonant melodies.

The lyrical content featured in the song makes light of the instinctual animalistic lustful thoughts that can cross the mind of a man but exaggerates them to paint the image of a perverted cannibal killer. Vocalist Lily Mou's use of pitched screaming gives off a tortured delivery that highlights a feeling that is not entirely emotional per se but rather evoking an association of self-loathing and pain.

Vore has been in REI's live repertoire since as early as 2017 and the band is excited to finally be able to share their hard work with the world.
